Policies and Guidance

Distance and Digital Learning Policy

This policy aims to provide clear guidance to all of our community on our approach to digital and distance learning from September 2020 onwards. It outlines our general practice and adapted procedures for various scenarios, including students in self-isolation and a partial or full closure of the school during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Systems Guidance

This is a guide to explain how students, parents and carers can access some of our key online systems including RM Unify, Show My Homework (Satchel:One), and Google Classroom. They can all be accessed via a web browser on any device. We recommend using Google Chrome for best compatibility.

Schemes of Work - Supporting Self-Isolation and Absences

Students who are self-isolating or unable to physically attend a lesson for any other reason can still access work, resources and tasks linked to the current sequence of lessons by viewing the live schemes of work below. Teachers will update their subject area tabs on the sheets above regularly to ensure that all students inside and outside of school can still access the learning taking place. These are subject to change as they are a working progress.

We have also provided clear guidance on the first page on how students can access the work and contact their teacher for support, how staff will be monitoring their progress and providing feedback, and how we will provide work for those without digital access. Most of our online work can be found on Google Classroom, which all students have access to. We encourage all parents and carers to explore the schemes of work, guidance and resources shared to take an active role in their child’s learning and development.

- Over 75% of parents, carers and students feel that our offer is Good or Excellent

- Over 5,000 tasks have been set by staff on Show My Homework

- Over 30,000 pieces of work have been submitted by our students

- Over 15,000 posts and messages have been shared collectively between staff and students on Google Classroom

- Over 150 teacher generated video lessons

- Over 40 live sessions of teaching or meetings with students

- Over 6,000 topics explored on Seneca by our students and over 4,000 hours of work completed on Hegarthy Maths

- Over 100 printable resources available on our public website for further support

- Library packs of resources from all subjects in all year groups

Below you will find a lot of the resources we shared publicly during lockdown, with many others shared directly to students via Google Classroom.
