Physical Education

The PE Faculty offers a varied and inclusive curriculum to all year groups. Activities include Volleyball, Cricket, Rounders, Football, Rugby, Basketball, Health Related Fitness, Trampolining, Table Tennis, Boccia, Multi-skills, Badminton, Gymnastics, Hockey and Netball.  The ethos of the department is to provide a high quality and inclusive curriculum to all students.

There are lots of morning, lunchtime and after school extra-curricular clubs on offer to students which are linked with the curriculum timetable.  There are also various inter-house events and sporting initiatives on offer throughout the year to enhance the learning of all students.

In Key Stage 4 a GCSE in Physical Education is offered as an option. This is via the Edexcel Examination board and is of most interest to those wishing to pursue further courses or a career in Physical Education or Sport.

Students who opt to take Physical Education as an option at Key Stage 4 have the opportunity to attend a residential trip in Y11 which contributes to their final GCSE mark.

The Faculty has seen some excellent results over the last few years and as a Faculty we ensure the provision of high quality Physical Education to maintain the high standards and ensure all students have the opportunity to achieve.
